According to statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO), two-thirds of the women who use IUD in the world are in China. On average, more than 10 million women use IUD every year.
According to data from the China Health Commission, choosing an IUD is the most important birth control method adopted by married couples in my country, and more than 50% of married couples choose.
Women and Contraception
female liberation
Is it the Nineteenth Amendment, which went into effect in 1920 and gave 26 million American women the right to vote; the Second Sex, which stated in 1949 that "women are not born women, but only become women"; or Miniskirt by Mary Quant in 1964?
Perhaps, there should also be birth control movements that emerged in the 19th century.
In the late 18th century, British economist Malthus published The Theory of Population. Population theory believes that poverty is caused by overpopulation, so population growth must be controlled. In the first half of the 19th century, the "new Malthusian" trend of thought emerged. "Neo-Malthusianism" advocates the use of contraceptive methods to reduce the birth rate while following the population theory. Some proponents of the theory argue that birth control is tied to women's rights. Dr. Charles Knowlton, the pioneer of the birth control movement in the United States, proposed that uncontrolled conception is not good for women's physical health. Many feminists are also actively promoting the birth control movement.
However, worldwide, the responsibility for contraception rests more with women. Abortion, birth control rings, contraceptives, ligation and other methods emerge in an endless stream, and women have become the main users of these methods.
